How to make this Algerian-style Chicken with Chickpeas in Tomato Sauce

Preparing this dish is very simple, and your guests or your family will completely love it. Keep in mind that this recipe needs to be accompanied by good bread.

Start by heating a splash of olive oil in the pot and add the chopped onion. When the onion has softened a little, it's time to add everything else except the chicken (and of course except the parsley, which is only for decoration): the pressed garlic, the chickpeas, the grated tomato, the spices, the tomato concentrate and salt and pepper to taste. Stir it and leave it for about 3-4 minutes over medium heat.

Add the chicken pieces and cover with water. Don't add too much because we don't want a soup, it just has to cover the chicken. Put the lid on the pot and leave it for about 40 over medium-high heat.

After this time, take out the chicken and heat a frying pan with a little olive oil (or butter if you prefer). Brown the chicken and serve it with the chickpea sauce. Decorate the dish with parsley and serve it with warm bread.
