Ingredients you need to make this very economical dough

  • 500 grams of flour (3 cups)
  • 125 milliliters of sunflower oil (1/2 cup)
  • 250 milliliters of water (1 cup)
  • 7 grams of sugar (1 teaspoon)
  • 3 grams of baker's yeast (1 teaspoon)
  • 10 grams of salt
  • Optional: to decorate sesame or black cumin

Ingredients you need to make the filling (optional)

  • 400 grams of minced beef
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • salt to your liking
  • 1 tablespoon concentrated tomato paste
  • Optional: grated cheese or cream cheese

Instructions

In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar and yeast, add the oil and mix. Add half the water and salt and knead for approximately 2 minutes. Add the rest of the water little by little and knead for about 3 minutes. You will have a consistent and non-sticky dough.

Put the dough in a plastic bag or in a container and cover it tightly.

Let it rest while you prepare the filling (about 20 minutes).

In a frying pan, add a splash of oil and soften the red onion (chopped). Add the minced meat, mix it and add the pressed garlic cloves. Leave it on medium heat for about 2 minutes and add the spices, mix and add the tomato concentrate. Leave it for about 3-4 minutes.

Put the minced meat on a plate to cool.

Cut the dough into 8 pieces and form balls, with a rolling pin, make circles. Put the dough on baking paper, put the filling inside and close it. You can watch the video below to see how it's done.

Before baking, paint them with water and decorate with sesame or black cumin.

Bake them for 12 to 14 minutes at 200º.

Serve them with a salad.

Enjoy them, Bismillah!
