It won't take me long to convince you to prepare this pasta recipe. Make your own pesto sauce in a few minutes, it's so much better than what you buy at the store. The aromas of the basil mixed with garlic, walnuts and Parmesan will make you drool even before you mix it with the pasta.

This pasta is so versatile, you can add the ingredients that you like the most. This is my version of pasta with pesto, I love the sun-dried tomatoes, the mozzarella and the spicy touch of the arugula.

You need very few ingredients to be successful making this pasta.

  • Pasta: elige la pasta que más te gusta, yo calculo 100 gramos de pasta en crudo por cada persona
  • Pesto: I advise you to make your own pesto, it will only take a few more minutes and it is very worth it
  • Sun-dried tomatoes: buy sun-dried tomatoes preserved in oil
  • Mozzarella: I love using mozzarella balls for this recipe
  • Arugula: I add arugula on top of the pasta, I think that the arugula with sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto is the ideal combination

You hardly need kitchen utensils to prepare this delicious pasta with pesto.

You need a pot to boil the pasta and possibly a mixer if you have made the decision to prepare your own pesto sauce.

How to make Pasta with Pesto

It's as easy as boiling the pasta. Meanwhile, cut the tomatoes into pieces in the size you prefer.

Once the pasta is ready, add the sun-dried tomato pieces, and the pesto sauce, mix and serve on a plate. Put mozzarella balls on top and some arugula leaves.

  • 400 grams 400 your favorite pasta

  • 5 tablespoons 5 homemade pesto

  • 150 grams 150 sun-dried tomatoes in oil

  • 200 grams 200 mozzarella balls

  • arugula to taste


  • Make the pasta following the package directions. Meanwhile, cut the sun-dried tomato into small pieces.
  • When the pasta is ready, drain the water and put it back in the pot. With the heat turned off, add the pesto and the chopped sun-dried tomatoes and mix well.
  • Serve it on plates and decorate with the mozzarella balls and arugula.
