Homemade greek salad dressing

Why make this Greek Salad Dressing?

This Greek Salad Dressing is fresh, delicious, easy to make, and tastes better than any dressing you can buy at the store. The good thing is that this recipe requires few simple ingredients, so you can make whenever you want to.

If you ask me, we all should have some Greek Salad Dressing in the fridge. Once you've made it, you can keep it for about 5-6 days in the fridge. And it is not only delicious on greek salad, but it's delicious on any salad, roasted vegetables, chicken, fish, etc.

Nowadays, any dressing that you can buy in the supermarket, has so many additives and a very high salt and sugar content. To avoid these additives, make the dressings at home. Not only will you be surprised by the taste of a homemade dressing, but it´s also much healthier.

Ingredients you need to make this Greek Salad Dressing

To make this dressing, you need very few ingredients. Which you most likely already have at home.

  • Extra virgin olive oil: use an extra virgin olive oil that you like the taste of. You need 1/2 cup
  • Apple cider vinager: I don't usually use apple cider vinegar for this Greek Salad Dressing recipe, but it's the one I have at home and the one I like to use. You will use 1/8 cup of vinegar
  • Lemon: you need two tablespoons of lemon juice. Ideally freshly squeezed
  • Oregano: use a teaspoon of dried oregano to give this dressing a delicious flavor
  • Garlic: use a large garlic clove, it is the exact amount so that the dressing is perfect for you. You need a garlic press, or failing that, cut it as small as you can
  • Sugar: add a teaspoon of sugar
  • Black pepper: add 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Salt: add 1/4 teaspoon salt

Kitchen tools you need to prepare this dressing

You need very few kitchen utensils. Here is the list:

  • Jar: find a jar with a lid to put all the ingredients for the dressing inside, put the lid on, shake it and… you have your sauce made!
  • Garlic press: if you have a garlic press, use it to press the garlic, otherwise you can cut the garlic very finely
  • Juicer: use a juicer to get the juice out of the lemon

How to make this recipe

It's as simple as mixing all the ingredients in a jar, cover it, shake it and you will have your delicious sauce for your salads.
